Iranian security forces have apprehended protest rapper Vafa Ahmadpour in Tehran and transferred him to an undisclosed location.
The legal platform Dadban reported that Ahmadpour was arrested on the evening of February 4.
It cited a reliable source as saying that "agents forcefully entered Ahmadpour's residence, took his family hostage, and demanded him to hand himself over," which the rapper did.
There was no immediate information about his whereabouts.
His Instagram page was disabled after his arrest.
According to Dadban, Ahmadpour had been on the run for the past year, and security forces visited his previous workplaces in the days leading up to his arrest.
The rapper dedicated songs to Mohammad Mehdi Karmi and Mohammad Hosseini, two protesters who were executed in January 2023 for participating in the 2022-23 uprising.
