Authorities of the Islamic Republic have summoned and arrested two Iranian journalists, Hassan Abbasi and Hessam Abediha, due to their critical reporting.
Abediha was arrested on April 5, according to an activist Telegram channel.
The channel reported that Abediha's arrest is linked to his reporting on a fraud case. Abediha was reportedly later released on bail.
According to the same source, before his arrest, Abediha had criticized the handling of the fraud case by Qazvin's judicial officials.
These criticisms were made during online meetings and in-person discussions involving judicial and government officials from Qazvin.
On the other hand, Hassan Abbasi recently shared a photo of his summons from the Tehran Media Prosecutor's Office on X social media.
The charges against Abbasi involve "spreading lies through cyberspace."
